Meet the staff

  • Kim

Hi, my name is Kimberley Deverell I am one of the owners of Puddleducks Nursery & pre-school as well as the manager. I have been in child care since 2006. I undertook my NVQ Level 3 at the Puddleducks in Clapham before transferring across to Puddleducks in Colmworth in 2007. I also went to uni and qualified in EarIy Years Practice. I left nursery in 2014 to train to be a nurse and qualified in 2017.

I have worked as a critical care nurse for the last 4 years. In 2019 I had my daughter who now attends Puddleducks. I love working with the team and watching the children grow. They are all so unique and have their own little characters but most of all I love their honesty, smiles, and creativity.

  • Cheryl

    Hi I'm Cheryl

I am Deputy Manager here at Puddleducks. I have worked in childcare for over 20 years and have a Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health & Social Care and Children & Young People's Services (Children & Young People's Management Pathway), Level 3 in Early Years Care & Education and Level 3 in Playwork.

I have previously owned my own nursery for 8 years, so have worn many different hats during my time in childcare.

I worked at Colmworth for the previous owners and loved the setting. So when the opportunity arose to come back, it was an easy decision to join the Puddleducks family.

I am passionate about helping children to learn, grow and develop in a warm, caring, nurturing environment. Building strong relationships enables the children to become the best they can be, and seeing them arrive with a smile and leave with a smile is the best feeling, and makes the job very rewarding.

  • Jenny

Hi, I'm Jenny Deputy & Preschool room leader of Owls. I have worked in childcare for the last 25 years. My journey at Puddleducks started back in 2005 when it first opened and I stayed for the next 15 years. It was taken over in 2015 by a big chain nursery and sadly shut its doors in March 2020.

When the opportunity arose to come back to the nursery I loved, it was an opportunity I knew I couldn’t refuse to help restore it back to the Puddleducks we all knew and loved. To work again with some of the best practitioners who have become close friends. Both my children came to this wonderful setting and thrived and I have had the pleasure over the years to care for so many other children in this amazing setting.

We are very lucky to have a great outdoor space and beautiful surrounding countryside to explore. I'm very passionate about my job and provide stimulating and fun activities for the children to learn through play.

I'm really looking forward to this next adventure at Puddleducks and look forward to meeting you.

  • Emma

Hi, my name is Emma Deverell and I’m one of the owners of Puddleduck nursery & pre-school. I work throughout the nursery in all the rooms.

I have worked in childcare for several years prior to opening the nursery. I worked at Puddleducks as a supply member of staff while working as a private nanny for two separate families. Working with children brings me so much joy, seeing them smile and hearing them laugh warms my heart.

I have one daughter aged 3 who attends Puddleducks.

  • Laura

Hi, my name is Laura. I work in Bumblebees. I'm a mum to my little boy who also attends Puddleducks. I have 14 years of experience working with children and I'm NVQ level 3 qualified. As a former Puddleducks employee, it feels really special to be returning 10 years on, working alongside the best team.

I enjoy creating a nurturing environment where children can learn whilst having lots of fun. It's important to create fond memories that will help them transition seamlessly through their early school life.

  • Carol

    Hi i’m Carol,

I am room leader in Butterflies room.

For over 30 years i have worked in Early Years education in various roles and settings. I have a diploma in Nursery nursing and a level 3 diploma in management.

Since joining Puddeducks i am pleased once again to have the opportunity to interact more closely with children in their early years - this was the main reason i entered this profession all those years ago.

I really enjoy being active and providing creative activities for the children, allowing them to embrace their curiosity and challenge their own ideas. It is amazing to se children learn, grow and develop into happy, confident, independent little people and aim to give them the best start in life to prepare them for school.

  • Charlotte

Hi my name is Charlotte and I am the room leader of Caterpillars.

I completed my level 3 Early Years apprenticeship at Puddleducks in 2020 with the previous company.

Since then I have become a mummy to my little girl, who attends Puddleducks and loves both the nursery and team as much as I do.

I love to get messy with the children and you will normally see me covered in something we have had fun with during the day.

The children really do brighten my day and make it a pleasure to be at work at such a beautiful setting.

There is nothing I love more than seeing the children flourish and achieve their goals with a smile at the end of the day.

  • Kirsty

In my spare time i enjoy walking and spending time with my grandchildren.

  • Christie

    Hi I'm Christie,

I joined Puddleducks in mid October 2022 and work in Bumblebees. I am a mum of two older daughters. I have worked in a primary school for the last 14 years and decided I would like a new challenge to look after younger children. Since starting at Puddleducks it has been so much fun already, getting to know all the individual characters. It is a pleasure to work in a nursery where the children’s emotional wellbeing comes first.

I love working with children and watching them grow, and I am also looking forward to completing my training soon learning more about the foundation stage.

  • Rachel

Hi I'm Rachel the Cook at Puddleducks,

I previously worked in a school kitchen and at a local tea room. I have two older children who I loved baking with when they were younger and making them home cooked meals. While working in the kitchen at nursery it brings back so many lovely memories of when they were younger, I enjoy trying new dishes for the children to try and talking to the little ones when taking their food to them.

It is nice to see the empty plates at the end of lunch.

  • Malwina

    Hi my name is Malwina,

I have completed my introduction into Early Years level 1 and also completed my Level 2 in Early Years, I am hoping to go on and complete my level 3. I then took time out before joining Puddleducks to have my own children. I am now a Mummy to two beautiful girls. I love working with children, watching the grow and explore the world. I believe that every child is different and unique.

I started working in child care back in 2012 when I was in college completing my level 2 Health and Social Care qualification and loved it.

Since then I’ve taken up lots of different career paths such as Special Effects Makeup and Business Administration.

I have also been travelling for the last two years around Australia, Bali and India where I completed my 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training.

Since I’ve been back in the UK I’ve been looking for a new challenge and it’s brought me right back to the start. It’s the most fulfilling and rewarding job I’ve done.
