Our History
Welcome to Puddleducks Nursery & Pre-School. Puddleduck Nursery School originally opened in Colmworth back in 2005 when it was owned by Jackie Manley. This is where our journey first began together, growing love and passion for childcare. Jenny (Deputy & Room leader for Owls) joined in May 2005, followed by myself Kim (Director/Nursery Manager) in September 2007 then by Georgina (Room leader for Butterflies) in 2008. Emma (also director) joined Puddleducks back in 2009 when she did supply work. Then Sadly Jackie decided to sell the nursery in 2015 and it was taken over by a chain nursery, then closed in 2020.
I left Puddleduck Nursery School back in 2014 to do adult nursing, I am now a qualified critical care nurse. Since becoming a mum I have had great difficulty in finding a nursery with such an amazing outdoor area and set in a beautiful rural location like Puddleducks in Colmworth.
I wanted to send my daughter to a nursery with a home-from-home atmosphere with the consistency of the same staff. All I kept comparing the nurseries to when going around for viewings was how Puddleducks use to be and none could compare. So when I heard the nursery was on the market I knew I had to take on this challenge. I knew how much potential this nursery had having worked for Jackie and how parents liked a homely private run day nursery.
The nursery has been specifically designed to support each stage of your child’s development. Following the Early Years Foundation Stage guidance, our dedicated and highly qualified staff work together to plan, organise, observe and record your child’s progress and achievements.
We offer exceptional childcare with a home from home atmosphere 7.30 am – 6 pm Monday to Friday, 51 weeks of the year excluding public holidays, and 1 week over the Christmas period.

We are situated on Church Road in Colmworth in the beautiful rural countryside located 10 minutes from Bedford, St Neots, Kimbolton and Great Barford with no traffic.
